If you’re reading this blog post, you’re probably interested in Christmas lights. We have some festive news for you, you’ve come to the right place! We’ve got a lot to say about putting festive lights up. We are big fans of the holidays. Thus, we are covering the dynamic nature of Christmas lights for every season, including Christmas.

Any type of exterior twinkle light works well during the holidays in Ontario to provide a festive feel. But twinkle lights aren’t just limited to the holidays, these outdoor lights can provide a party like atmosphere in any situation if coordinated just right. That’s why there is no real reason to take the lights down, depending on where and how they are placed, of course. Having white fairy lights spread around your garden provides a fantastic atmosphere during the summer after the sun begins to set. You can also use these lights to light up walkways or wrap them around tree trunks, placing them in awnings, or wrapping them in and around canopies.

The trick here is to ensure that the ones you leave up year round are white, not coloured. The multi-coloured lights scream festivity and holidays, so turning them on in the other seasons might be a little confusing for your guests. White twinkle lights spread throughout the exterior of a home is gaining popularity with landscaping experts, as it can help illuminate just about any outdoor space and help give it a more welcoming atmosphere.

If you’re really in the mood for entertaining for a theme, you can buy novelty lights. For example, if it’s the holidays, you can get lights in the shape of trees or candy canes. If you are having a chilli cook-off, you can have the lights in the shape of a hot pepper.  Anything is possible in this technologically-efficient day and age.

Fairy lights can also help improve on safety. If you run Christmas lights down walkways, people can see if there are icy conditions. In the summertime, guests can navigate through a dark backyard and find their way to the bathroom while avoiding the opportunity to trip and stumble.

If you don’t have a plug outdoors for your lights, no worries! You can use battery operated fairy lights or you can simply get a long extension cord and run the lights from an outlet that is further away. Finally, always try to get LED lights, as they are much more efficient. If you’re going to run these lights often, going LED can save you a bit of money down the line.
