This past Saturday morning Woolcott Real Estate parked their large moving truck in the Sobey’s Plaza in Waterdown. Free coffee, hot chocolate and doughnuts were served as they collected gently used coats and winter wear to donate to the Good Shepherd Centre in Hamilton. Woolcott Real Estate was joined by the Loewen Group Mortgages who all brought along generous donations for the cause. A huge thank you must also be given to the entire community for coming out and supporting the cause. A special note to the residents of Wildan Estates as they dropped an incredible number of coats to one of the team members who lives in the survey.

Shortly after the donations were packed up, Drew and Peter Woolcott delivered the donation to the Good Shepherd Centre. They received a very warm and thankful reception. The people that work there are very proud of their facility and services and took them on a tour. While touring the operation, the need for community support was evident. Warm coats, hats and mittens in all sizes are always very much in need. Another area in great need that was pointed out to Drew and Peter is anything for the kitchen. With this in mind, Woolcott Real Estate will be looking for any donations of house wares: pots, pans, plates, mixing bowls, glassware, flatware. All donations are welcome and can be dropped to the Woolcott office at 81 Highway 5 W, just west of Clappison Corners or give them a call and they will be happy to pick it up.

Through the commitment to their mission of “Never Stop Loving” and their willingness to be of service to those in need, The Good Shepherd has grown to become the largest provider of human and social services in the Greater Hamilton area.

The Good Shepherd provides so many amazing services including: emergency food and clothing, daily hot meals, emergency shelters, transitional housing, education for homeless and street-involved youth, hospice palliative care, community mental health programs and supportive housing programs.

The work of Good Shepherd is based on a fundamental belief in providing hope and restoring dignity to the most vulnerable members of our community. Good Shepherd’s innovative programs and services are provided 365 days a year, without judgement and distinction, to any one in need. All of their services are offered free of charge.
