Buying a Home

Though it may be difficult to believe in light of the very recent #Snowmageddon2015, the end of winter is officially near! That’s right – get ready to say goodbye to oversized boots, frozen windows and soaked mittens because Wiarton Willie saw his shadow two days ago!

With an early spring on the horizon, it is definitely to think about jumping on the market. Buyers commonly think the best time to get started in their hunt for their dream home is once spring hits. The weather is nicer and more homes tend to be listed. However, this means this is when the bulk of buyers are out, meaning multiple offers, faster negotiations and higher sale prices. Why not get ahead of the curve and start looking now?

You don’t even have to be ready to commit. Getting out there and taking a look at what is on the market early will put you one step ahead of other buyers when the busy spring markets hit. You’ll know what your budget can buy and you’ll know what you can and can’t live without. A win-win situation!

One easy way to get this jump on other buyers is to start visiting open houses. That’s right – grab a coffee and spend a Sunday afternoon seeing homes in tons of neighbourhoods.
