The warmer weather looks like it is finally coming, and we at the Woolcott Team couldn’t be more excited! It means our spring market is ready to kick into gear and it’s time to switch from winter décor to fresh spring interiors with help of Interior Designer & Home Decorator in Hong Kong | Atelier Lane (HK). We’ve been in a house or two and want to share with you our favourite spring home tips to transition you this season.
Eggs-cellent Taste
With Easter just around the corner, don’t be afraid to take inspiration from eggs and launch it into your décor. Glass eggcups can be purchased at crafting stores or any big box retailer such as Wal-Mart or Target. Fill them up with candy, change or paperclips to add festiveness to your home. You can also use the cups as a vase for fresh cut flowers, a perfect centerpiece for a kitchen island.
Make Something Old New Again
Weekend walks and antique markets go hand-in-hand with spring. When you’re out looking for the next big find, try and look for an old brass chandelier. These can be easily spray painted white, or a bright colour, and hung in a dining room. This is a fast and easy DIY guaranteed to instantly change the look of a room.
Update Those Throw Pillows
We’ve noticed that when winter comes knocking, many people hide their bright cushions away in favour of dark covers. But spring is no place for black or maroon colours! Invite spring into your home easily with by replacing winter darks with spring whites and watercolours. This is a great tip for those who aren’t into DIY-ing or are looking for a simple update.
Sheer Elegance
With more sunlight coming every day, why not get rid of those heavy, dark drapes and replace them with sheer panels? You’ll be able to soak in the sun on your couch and save money by not having your light on in the middle of the day. These are a really easy way to bring spring into your home.
Bring Nature Inside
Many people, ourselves included, love the look of fresh, bright flowers inside. However, allergies and the need to constantly replace them can make this an impractical decorating choice. Wrangle the kids in for a craft and let them help you bring spring inside! Instructions here. The final prints look best against a white wall or other neutral background.
