Welcome to Waterdown
At the tip top of the Niagara Escarpment, you’ll find the bustling village of Waterdown, Ontario. This growing area is a great place for families, first-time buyers or those looking for a conveniently serene locale.
Given its location, it’s easy to see why Waterdown real estate became such a convenient rest stop for those travelling between Toronto and Dundas in the 1700s. This thriving milling community, thanks to the Grindstone Creek, eventually helped morph living in Waterdown to what it is today – a quaint enclave that is always growing.
The growth of Waterdown real estate has resulted in a variety of options for families of all kinds. The newer subdivisions offer townhomes and newly-built homes, while the outskirts of the village have a wealth of rural opportunities for those who crave a bit more space.
In love with history? Waterdown offers a downtown area that preserves so much of the charm that made the area special in the first place. You can even tour the original American Hotel (one of the oldest in Ontario), and the former library.
For those charmed by the village feel, the downtown area is the perfect place to spend an afternoon – with independent shops, boutiques, restaurants and cafes. There’s also plenty of parks, and even the Bruce Trail for adventurers and antiquing for those who like to score their next vintage piece.
