With the weather warming up, I am starting to get excited about all the things to do in Hamilton this summer.
One of my all-time favourite activities is going to the farmer’s market. Nothing beats getting out in the sun, chatting with the vendors and of course, amazing + fresh food.
Waterdown Farmer’s Market – Saturdays
Growing up in Waterdown, farmer’s markets were a staple. Our mother was constantly dragging us out to pick up fresh produce. At the time, I absolutely hated it.
Now, I love going back to the Waterdown Farmers’ Market on Saturdays. It is held in the Weeks Home Hardware parking lot on Hamilton Street N. Want an inside tip? This market has hands-down the BEST corn! They also offer fresh, local produce with many options for everyone.

Locke Street Farmer’s Market
My current favourite is the Locke Street Farmer’s Market. I cannot wait for it to start back up this year on May 10th! On Saturday mornings from 9am-12pm, you can pop in and grab anything you could ever need.
I usually walk over after my Saturday morning gym session and find a fun treat to head home with. One of my favourite vendors there is Casa Pinata, a non-alcoholic craft beverage company. All of their drinks are outstanding!
Hamilton Farmer’s Market
I could not write a blog post about farmer’s markets and not include the Hamilton Farmers’ Market located in Jackson Square. This one dates back to the 1800s, and features everything from baked goods to meat & fish. I can get my entire weeks’ worth of groceries in one trip! An added bonus is that it’s open Wednesday to Saturday.

Dundas Farmer’s Market
On Thursdays from 2pm-6pm, the Dundas Farmer’s Market is open at Hatt Street & Miller’s Lane. I must admit, I have only been to this one a handful of times, but each time has left me thoroughly impressed.
There are a ton of vendors and plenty of tables to sit and enjoy your purchases. The next time I am out of the office early on a Thursday, the Dundas Farmer’s Market is the first place I am going!
